Overview

This 28 Day Best of Uganda is a combined trip that drives you deep into the country’s diverse landscapes. It allows you to explore almost all of Uganda’s Ten National Parks, where you can experience different activities such as savannah game drives, primate trekking, birding tours, mountain hiking, walking safaris, and cultural tours.

A visit to  Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to half the remaining mountain gorillas in the wild, located in the southwestern region, approximately an 8- to 9-hour drive from Kampala. A recommended destination for unforgettable mountain gorilla trekking worldwide.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is popularly known as Uganda’s top wildlife safari destination, located in the southwestern region, approximetaly about 5 to 6 hours from Kampala. Activities include game drives, launch cruise, and many more.

Head to Kibale National Park, known as a kingdom home for primates with over 13 species, including the ”great apes ‘’. Expect to do a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel, game drives, and many more.

Drive to Murchison Falls National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to Borassus palm-dotted savannas and wooded grasslands which are habitats of various animal species, attractions, and bird life. Birding across the ancient River Nile into the Mid-altitude forest of Budongo Forest- commonly spotted birds include: Kingfishers, Hornbills, Yellow-footed Flycatcher, Puvel’s illadopsis, mentioned but a few.

The birding tour will drive into Uganda’s top birding sites: Mubamba Swamp, Semiliki National Park, Lake Mburo, among others. Expect to spot various Uganda’s endemic species such as  Fox’s Weaver, shoebill storks, Shelley’s Crimsonwing, Green-breasted pitta, African Green Broadbill, Papyrus Gonolek, Karamoja  Apalis, Standard-winged Nightjar, and many more.

Visit Kidepo Valley National Park, which lies in the northeastern region, home to a diversity of rare wildlife species and birds. It is typically characterized by dry scrub and thorn bush that are prevalent during your safari here.

A visit to the Ruwenzori Mountains will give you an opportunity to hike along Africa’s highest mountain, featuring the third-highest peak in the world, ” Margarita Peak “.The park is known for its unique equatorial glaciers, giant plant life, and trekking challenges, though rewarding and worth it. Enjoy your safari under excellent accommodations with good amenities and an easy location.
